About Po Lin Monastery

Established in 1906, the monastery houses three statues of Buddha. Each statue represents a different life of Buddha – the past one, the present one and the future one. You can visit the monastery gardens where you can enjoy some peaceful meditation or climb the many stairs to see the 34 meters tall statue of Buddha (one of the biggest statues of Buddha) that looks over the surrounding countryside. There is also a gift shop selling souvenirs and a Vegetarian Kitchen, where you can get a fresh and delicious meal. Apart from the restaurant, there is also a snack bar selling vegetarian snacks.
