About Berlin Cathedral

This impressive neo-Renaissance basilica is the largest church in Berlin and also the center of the Protestant Church in Germany. The current building was built on the site of a church from the 15th century. Wilhelm II had the church torn down in 1894 and the current cathedral was finished in 1905. It was heavily damaged during WWII and reopened in 1993, although some of the restoration works continued until 2002.
